Paint Colors In Our Home: The City House
Last week I made the big announcement on the blog that we had moved to the country. Like fields of corn and wheat, in the middle of nowhere, COUNTRY. And that we plan to start a FARM of sorts. There are so many changes coming up! However, in the meantime, I wanted to share the paint colors in our home. You know, the old house, which we now lovingly refer to as the city house.
It will probably come as no surprise that our paint colors are very neutral, since I’ve described our home style in the past as a Neutral Modern Farmhouse. What can I say? We love gray, greige and beige because they can work with so many different decor choices.
This color may just be our favorite paint color ever! We used it in our breakfast nook, kitchen, and living room and it is just one of those neutral colors that goes great with everything. I love how it changes with the light too. Sometimes it looks grayer and other times it is more of a gray-beige.
If you are looking for a light, warm, griege paint color, then this would be your go-to color. It looks beautiful bathed in natural light and was the perfect compliment for a relaxing bedroom space.
Stonington Gray may just be the perfect true gray paint color. We painted our kids’ shared bedroom with this color and were so happy with the results.
Even though we were originally thinking of painting our bathrooms with a color from Restoration Hardware, we ended up changing our minds and went with Gray Owl. I had read so many great things about this paint color online, and it did not disappoint.
We painted our playroom/family room/office, which is in our basement, right before we moved with a mis-tint paint from Valspar. (The previous color was also a random mis-tint.) I’m not really sure what the color actually is, but it is very similar to Valspar’s Silver Leaf, so that’s what we are going with.
So, that pretty much wraps it up! Our new home (the country house) currently has all white walls, so it will be interesting to see if we end up using these paint colors in our home again. Have you used any of these colors in your home? If so, which is your favorite?
